Hey ya’ll, I’m Joni Lee from a little town called Hortense, Georgia! Most people know me as Backwoods Barbie! I have hunted and fished my entire life and it’s a passion for me! It’s my peace and serenity! The place where I can go and talk to God in that old South Georgia pine! I’ve always had a dream of getting more people involved in the outdoors so that’s when I created my Backwoods Barbie Outdoors page to share my adventures with the world! It grew faster than I ever imagined and I am so thankful for everyone that has helped me along the way. I would love to eventually do guided hunts and things like that but I would have to win the lottery. As long as I can hunt and fish I will always share my knowledge and passion with others.
This was my 1st turkey and it was so special because I was hunting by myself and made the 52-yard kill shot! It’s an awesome feeling to know you can do it all yourself. I want other women, men, and kids to know you can do it yourself, you can dream and sometimes those dreams do come true.

Every day is a blessing and every day spent with family and friends in the outdoors is extra special. I encourage each and every one of you to just get out and get involved and learn the way of the land. My dad taught me to never depend on anyone else in life to get out and do it yourself. I have twin girls and a little boy and I try to instill that in them also. My dad and I still hunt together and I hope to have many more years with him! Hunting and fishing is my drug and it’s not one I will ever willingly quit!
